Superman & Lois’ Tyler Hoechlin Talks Spin-off Possibilities Ahead of Finale

The beloved Superman & Lois series might be ending, but its lead star Tyler Hoechlin has some fresh updates regarding the show’s future. Following its small-screen debut in 2021, the DC series has gone on to amass a significant fanbase. Despite its popularity, the show was unexpectedly canceled and will conclude after its ongoing fourth season. In the wake of the Superman & Lois finale, Hoechlin has come out to address rumors of his potential return as the Man of Steel in a spin-off.

In a recent discussion, the Road to Perdition actor conveyed that he is open to donning Superman’s iconic cape again. Tyler Hoechlin also shed light on possible DC roles he and fellow Superman & Lois actress, Elizabeth “Bitsie” Tulloch, could undertake in future projects and spin-offs.

While talking to Screen Rant’s Joe Deckelmeier at the San Francisco Fan Expo, the actor highlighted his chances of returning as the Kryptonian hero. He admitted that “the great thing about the [superhero] genre and the multiverse” is that “there’s always opportunities.”

The Teen Choice Awards winner then expressed his desire to feature in an animated iteration of the character. Hoechlin remarked that he “would totally do animation” before jokingly adding, “I don’t have to put the suit on for that, right?.” Additionally, his co-star Bitsie Tulloch corroborated his sentiments. She that she would contact DC President and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee for a spin-off as “there’s been demand for it.”

The duo even forwarded the idea of possibly playing Batman and Catwoman in a future DC project. Hoechlin also solidified the pair’s companionship by saying that he and Tuloch “come as a package deal.”

At the time of writing, the future of Superman & Lois remains in the air. The series will end after its fourth season, but the makers haven’t sanctioned any spin-off as of yet. Moreover, James Gunn has yet to mention Tyler Hoechlin or Bitsie Tulloch in his plans for the updated DCU.
