Not a dream! Not a hoax! And not an imaginary story either! Lois Lane really does have superpowers now, and is using them to defend Metropolis when she isn’t editing The Daily Planet. How did this happen? Why did this happen? The answers will finally be revealed in Superwoman Special #1.
Written by Joshua Williamson, with art by Edwin Galmon and Nikola Čižmešija, Superwoman Special #1 is firmly focused on Lois Lane. For years, the matriarch of the Super Family was used to playing a support role when it came to supervillains threatening the world. Despite this, she still got into the thick of things trying to expose corruption as only she could. She is still hard at work, but her recent empowerment has left her feeling run-down as she fights for Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow in both her guises.

Superwoman Special #1 to explain how Lois Lane got powers
Lois Lane recently adopted the Superwoman name in Superman #19. This was the first issue of Superman published as part of the DC All-In initiative. This followed on the heels of the Absolute Power event, where many heroes were depowered.
Precisely how Lois Lane came to acquire the powers of a Kryptonian has yet to be explained. It was presumed to be a side effect of the final battle with Amanada Waller and her Amazo army. This caused many people to switch powers or acquire powers they didn’t have before. While it seems unlikely this will be a permanent change, the tale of how Lois Lane became Superwoman is ready to be told.
Superman Special #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on December 11, 2024.
