Mary Elizabeth Winstead is open to doing another season of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, though it may not happen for a while.
Speaking with Collider, Winstead was asked if she’d return to portray the character of Ramona Flowers, who she played in 2010’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and then voiced in the 2023 Scott Pilgrim Takes Off anime series.
“I think we would all be so happy to do more, just in the sense that we love these characters and we love getting an opportunity to be together,” she answered. “But the reality of it is that this was a lightning in a bottle moment where we all got to come back after 10 years and revisit these characters with all the changes that have occurred since then and the people that we are now. Bryan and BenDavid did such an amazing job of infusing it with all those journeys and feelings, and I think doing another one might make more sense in another 10 years, to see what feelings come out of that time frame. So, I don’t know. The ball is in their court, in terms of whether there is another story to tell that would have that same magical feeling.”
What is Scott Pilgrim Takes Off about?
“Scott Pilgrim meets the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers, but learns he must defeat her seven evil exes in order to date her. Then things get even more complicated” the official synopsis reads. Netflix added that the series “revisits and reimagines the beloved cult classic, taking Ramona Flowers, her evil exes, Scott, and his friends off on a mysterious new action-packed journey to find love.”
Along with Winstead, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off’s vocal cast includes Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim, Satya Bhabha as Matthew Patel, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Brie Larson as Natalie “Envy” Adams, Aubrey Plaza as Julie Powers, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, Jason Schwartzman as Gideon Graves, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Alison Pill as Kimberly Pine, Mae Whitman as Roxie Richter, and Ellen Wong as Knives Chau.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is currently streaming on Netflix.
