Star Wars: The Bad Batch Producer Compares the Show to The A-Team

In a matter of days, Star Wars will welcome a new animated installment in its enlarged universe as The Bad Batch will be released. The upcoming animated series will follow the Clone Force 99, a small group of experimental clones on the run who possess peculiar combat skills. If that description rings a bell to you, you might not be alone. According to Star Wars: The Bad Batch supervising director and executive producer Brad Rau, the story will have more than one point in common with The A-Team.

A-Team is a great analog,” he said while talking with StarWars.com. “I love A-Team, as well. The fact that you have this team that is on the run, the Bad Batch, from the Empire, it gives us an opportunity to follow these cool guys. But they’re being hunted by all of the Empire. So where do they go? What do they do? As an elite special forces unit that do their jobs so well within the confines of the army, like the A-Team, what happens when they’re outside of that?”

Besides featuring the return of Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair, the upcoming series will introduce a brand new character to the Star Wars Universe. Her name is Omega, and she will meet the band of clones on the planet Kamino, where Hunter offers her the chance to join them in their adventures.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch will land on Disney+ on May 4. In the meantime, you can check out the poster producers have released for Omega here below.
