Venom: The Last Dance Trailer Previews Final Tom Hardy Movie in Marvel Franchise

A new trailer for Venom: The Last Dance has been released.

Venom: The Last Dance is the upcoming third and final entry in the Venom franchise, which stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. The new Marvel movie, which is set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, will be released in theaters this coming October.

What do we know about Venom: The Last Dance?

“In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy,” reads the synopsis. “Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”

Along with Hardy, the film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham.

The first Venom movie was released in 2018. It proved to be a massive hit for Sony, as it grossed approximately $856.1 million at the global box office off an estimated $100-$116 million budget. It starred Hardy, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake, and more.

An Andy Serkis-directed sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, followed in 2021. With Woody Harrelson playing the role of Carnage, the sequel made around $506.9 million at the global box office off an estimated $110 million budget.

Kelly Marcel, who worked on the screenplays for both Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, is now directing the third entry in the franchise. The script for the movie was also written by Marcel, based on a story by her and Hardy.

Venom: The Last Dance will be released in United States theaters on October 25, 2024, from Sony Pictures Releasing.
