Back in 2013, Harry Lennix made his DC movie debut as General Swanwick in Man of Steel. Shortly afterwards, many fans guessed that Swanwick was actually J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter in disguise. Zack Snyder finally confirmed this theory by sharing a storyboard from a deleted Justice League scene to his Vero account last year. And with the Snyder Cut arriving on HBO Max in 2021, fans are naturally curious if Lennix will show up as J’onn in all his Martian glory. Now, Lennix himself has teased his appearance with a pair of cryptic postings on Twitter.
Lennix tweeted out his support for the Snyder Cut earlier today. But when a fan responded with a J’onn-centric panel from Snyder’s storyboard, Lennix could only reply with a winking emoji. You can check out the exchange for yourself below.

Oddly enough, Lennix announced that he would not be playing Martian Manhunter in a tweet posted in late 2016, over a year before Justice League opened. This made the release of Snyder’s storyboard even more surprising when it made the rounds last fall. Additionally, Snyder fueled the rumor mill when he once again took to Vero to post an image of Lennix in character as Swanwick. His caption (“watching over them all”) suggests that J’onn was secretly observing the heroes of the DCEU all along.
The Justice League Snyder Cut will hit HBO Max in 2021.
