Andrew Koji Cast As Storm Shadow In Snake Eyes Movie
Paramount’s upcoming Snake Eyes solo film will continue to explore the rivalry between the title character and his greatest rival. While Henry Golding is still only “in talks” to play Snake Eyes, it looks like Paramount has found its new Storm Shadow. According to The Wrap, Andrew Koji has been tapped to play the ninja assassin in director Robert Schwentke’s G.I. Joe spinoff.
Storm Shadow made his first appeared in Marvel’s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #21 in 1984. Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow served together in the military and became close friends. Eventually, Snake Eyes aligned himself with the Joes and Storm Shadow joined up with Cobra. Years later, they fought side-by-side when Storm Shadow renounced Cobra and joined G.I. Joe. Byung-Hun Lee previously appeared as Storm Shadow in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and returned for G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Koji currently stars as Ah Sahm on the Cinemax series Warrior, which was just renewed for a second season. He has also appeared in Fast & Furious 6 and was recently seen on an episode of Starz’s American Gods. Koji’s work on Warrior requires a great deal of martial arts training; which probably played a big role in his latest gig. He also served as a stunt double on Fast & Furious 6 and was the stunt coordinator on the 2013 short film Scrutiny.
Snake Eyes will hit theaters on October 16, 2020.
