Electrocuted Turtle to Be NECA’s Next Loot Crate Exclusive TMNT Figure

Electrocuted Turtle to Be NECA’s Next Lootcrate Exclusive TMNT Figure

In a recent interview, NECA‘s Randy Falk promised that the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game figure exclusive would feature an execution nobody had ever tried before. That sounded like an odd way to put it, but he was right. Today brings news that the next Loot Crate figure is a glow-in-the-dark electrocuted turtle. Colored in black and white deco, the fighting reptile — who could be either of the key four — glows under blacklight or after soaking up rays. For a $49.95 preorder price, the figure comes in a box with other exclusive TMNT merch. But the figures alone tend to triple in price on the after-market.

The electrocuted turtle figure makes four announced for this initiative since the sold-out spirit of Splinter. A Mirage comics TMNT box features an exclusive comic-style repaint Shredder, while a cartoon-themed crate includes Easter bunny Rocksteady. Sign up for those and this new turtle, and get a bonus Easter Bebop as well.

NECA has promised not to make any key characters into hard-to-get exclusives, but rather to make them fun variants which wouldn’t likely sell through at retail. This particular iteration, while supremely clever, fits the bill. A skeletal turtle is totally cool, yet it depicts a thoroughly frustrating moment for gamers when they get hit with power-draining electrical energy. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Loot Crates are all one time purchases, and do not require subscriptions. Those who want the exclusive Bebop bonus figure just have to preorder the other three.
