Avengers Star Mark Ruffalo Talks Hulk’s Future, She-Hulk, Wolverine

Mark Ruffalo’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still in doubt at the moment. The actor started his long journey as Bruce Banner/Hulk back in 2012, but right now it seems that he hasn’t got a deal in place for the next step yet. Many fans hoped that he would return in the upcoming She-Hulk series, but Ruffalo explained that at the moment a Hulk involvement is far from being done.

“There’s nothing completely at a place where it’s a done deal,” Ruffalo said speaking with Variety. “There’s some talk of having Banner/Hulk show up in [the Disney Plus series] She-Hulk. If we come up with something good, that would be really interesting. Right now that’s about it. That’s all there is on the table.”

Ruffalo went on to add that he wouldn’t mind starring a standalone Hulk movie like Edward Norton and Eric Bana did before him, making a comparison between the green-skinned superhero and two iconic characters from Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

“There’s an idea that I think could be really interesting,” Ruffalo said. “We’ve never really followed him into his life. He’s always kind of off on the side. He’s like the Rosencrantz and Guildenstern of the Avengers. It’d be interesting to fill in all the blanks about what happened to him in between all these movies.”

Ruffalo has always been a big comic book fan, and he is hoping that sooner or later the muscular monster he portrays onscreen and Wolverine team up for an epic adventure.

Now that the X-Men are back at Marvel Studios, “maybe Hulk and Wolverine could hook up,” concluded Ruffalo.
