Hawkeye Star Jeremy Renner Has Seen Less Than 2 MCU Avengers Movies

Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner has seen less than two MCU Avengers movies from start to finish.

Renner is known for playing Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character officially debuted in 2011’s Thor and has since gone on to star in and lead a number of other Marvel Studios projects.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Renner hasn’t actually watched many of the Avengers movies that he’s been in.

Which Avengers movies has Jeremy Renner seen?

“Renner said he doesn’t usually watch his own movies but saw the first Avengers movie and half of Avengers: Endgame because on-set cast members of action-packed superhero movies don’t see any of the CGI-created scenes. ‘You want to see what’s really going on there,’ he quipped,” the article reads.

Following Thor and 2012’s The Avengers, Renner’s Marvel character has appeared in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, 2021’s Black Widow, 2021’s Hawkeye, and 2024’s Echo. Renner has also voiced alternate versions of Barton in the animated What If…” series.

Speaking at the Red Sea International Film Festival, Renner further commented on his experiences with the MCU.

“I remember they wanted to do a 10-year sort of deal,” he said. “I’m like: ‘I don’t know, at 50 years old, do you want to be in tights, dude? This is not a good look. I don’t think anybody wants to see me at 50 in tights.’”

Portraying Hawkeye, however, has been “one of the most beautiful experiences” that Renner has had. He continued, “Playing Clint Barton and then finding five of my best friends I can just spend the next 12 years of my life with – going through marriages and divorces and kids and ups and downs in our lives, and experience a lot. And the Avengers is a real thing. We all got tattoos together, and it’s the A6 symbol, and we all got it on different parts of our body.”
