Marvel’s Avengers Video Game Will Get a Prequel Novel

Next year, Square Enix will release the video game Marvel’s Avengers. But before fans jump into the game, Square Enix will explore the history of this particular Marvel Universe.

Via IGNTitan Books will first publish a prequel to coincide with the game this March. Titled Marvel’s Avengers: The Extinction Key, it focuses on the events that take place prior to the A-Day event, which sets things in motion.

The novel will pit the Avengers against an ancient organization called the Zodiac. Much like their comic book counterparts, Zodiac is pursuing a deadly weapon called the Zodiac Key. However, the Avengers will have some help, as some new characters will join in.

The Extinction Key will feature Doctor Strange and Doctor Voodoo. Various members of S.H.I.E.L.D. will also be on hand to assist Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow. New York Times bestselling author Greg Keyes is writing the novel. And it will hit bookstores on March 31, 2020.
