All eyes are set to be on Square Enix this evening with its reveal of its Marvel’s The Avengers game. But that doesn’t mean other companies can’t steal a bit of the spotlight during the Electronic Entertainment Expo this week. Tastemakers is a company that has specialized in making home arcade machines, the Arcade1up line, for affordable and conveniently play. They’ve been selling quite well, particularly its Mortal Kombat trilogy. And now, two more comic book licensed machines, including some Marvel arcade favorites, are joining the fray.
In a reveal over at Forbes this morning, the company confirmed that two more games are joining the Arcade1up line-up this fall, based on Marvel and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The first will feature a trio of Capcom-licensed favorites based on Marvel properties. The second is based on four-player Konami Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mutliplayer beat-em-ups. The Capcom-licensed unit will feature the fighting games Marvel Super Heroes and X-Men: Children of the Atom, two favorites released before the popular Versus brand came along. In addition, the side-scrolling action game The Punisher is also playable, allowing players to choose between Frank Castle and Nick Fury. Side and cabinet art based on Marvel Superheroes is included.
On the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles machine (sub-licensed by Nickelodeon), the original arcade game is the main attraction, along with the sequel Turtles In Time. The game features support for up to four players, along with the cabinet art from the original arcade release.

“With over 30 years of experience in consumer products, I have never seen such an involved or passionate fan community,” said Scott Bachrach, CEO, Tastemakers, speaking with Forbes. “We have watched tens of thousands of fans across our social media platforms request some of these new titles and we are really excited to be turning their hopes for our brand into a reality.”
These games will be on display at the company’s booth at E3, for those who want to check them out. The Marvel unit will sell for $299. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game will go a little higher at $349, due to its expanded four-player cabinet.
Tastemakers didn’t have any comment about any future classic Marvel games in the Arcade1up line-up. So no word yet on those Vs. games or X-Men the Arcade Game getting a home release. Yet.
