Game of Thrones spin-off A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight

Game of Thrones Spin-off Series The Hedge Knight Gets Release Window

The next Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, has been given a 2025 release window.

Per TVLine, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced during a Q4 earnings call on Friday, February 23, 2024, that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will premiere in “late 2025.”

What do we know about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight?

“A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg,” the logline for the series reads. “Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”

Announced in April 2023, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight is written and executive produced by Martin and Ira Parker. Ryan Condal (the showrunner for House of the Dragon) and Vince Gerardis also serve as executive producers.

Casting surrounding A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, which is based on Geroge R. R. Martin’s Dunk and Egg novels, has not yet been announced.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will be the second Game of Thrones spin-off series following House of the Dragon, which will air its second season in the summer of 2024 after the first season debuted in August 2022. Several more Game of Thrones spin-offs are currently in various stages of development.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will premiere on Max in 2025. Game of Thrones and the first season of House of the Dragon are both currently streaming on Max.
