My Adventures With Superman Moves To Adult Swim

Given the state of original animation on HBO Max, it was an open question as to whether the My Adventures With Superman animated series would ever see the light of day. It was announced nearly two years ago alongside the high-profile animated show, Batman: Caped Crusader; which was recently shuffled off to Amazon Prime Video. However, the Man of Steel’s new series will not meet the same fate. Adult Swim has announced that it will premiere My Adventures With Superman later this year.

When the series was initially announced, the plan was for it to run on both Cartoon Network and HBO Max. Apparently it will still stream on HBO Max at some point. But first, it will join Adult Swim’s “late-night primetime hours,” with repeats airing during the Toonami block.

The show features Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen in much younger incarnations than their comic book counterparts. Each episode follows these young adults as they try to make their name at The Daily Planet, while Clark saves the world on the side as Superman.

Long-time DC animation producer Sam Register is executive producing the series alongside Josie Campbell, Jake Wyatt, and Brendan Clogher. Campbell is best known for her work on Netflix’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Clogher also worked for Netflix on Voltron: Legendary Defender, while Wyatt’s credits include Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus.

So far, the only announced cast members of My Adventures With Superman are Jack Quaid as Clark Kent/Superman and Alice Lee as Lois Lane. But more cast members will be revealed later this year.
