Twenty years ago, The Next Generation cast was given a premature sendoff in Star Trek: Nemesis. However. the pending conclusion of Star Trek: Picard will give fans at least one last chance to see the cast reunite with Patrick Stewart. Today, Paramount+ announced that Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, LeVar Burton, and Gates McFadden will all be back for the third and final season of Picard.
To go along with the announcement, Paramount+ posted a teaser video in which the cast shares a few lines in character. But only Stewart’s Picard and Frakes’ Riker appear onscreen in this clip.

Frakes and Sirtis made guest appearances as Riker and Troi in season 1. Spiner has played Data and other roles in both seasons. However, this will be the first official return for Dorn as Worf, Burton as Geordi La Forge, and McFadden as Dr. Beverly Crusher since the end of Nemesis.
“I remember watching the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation almost 34 years ago with my father like it was yesterday,” said Picard season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas. “It was the spark that ignited my love for science fiction. So, it’s most fitting that the story of Jean-Luc Picard ends honoring the beginning, with his dearest and most loyal friends from the U.S.S. Enterprise. It would be an understatement to say that giving these characters a proper send-off is an honor. The entire Star Trek: Picard team and I can’t wait for fans to experience this final, high-stakes, starship-bound adventure in season three!”
Star Trek: Picard season 3 is currently in production while season 2 is now streaming on Paramount+.
