In just over a week, the long-awaited Halo TV series will finally arrive on Paramount+. The show had its world premiere at SXSW earlier this week. But even as first impressions start making their way online, Paramount+ has released a brand new trailer for the highly-anticipated video game adaptation. Check it out for yourself below. Halo trailer highlights
The new trailer is surprisingly light on footage of Pablo Schreiber’s Master Chief. Instead, it shifts most the focus onto the supporting characters, who clearly have their own baggage to contend with. For example, Kwan Ha (Yerin Ha) has her own score to settle with the Covenant after they wipe out most of her people. But we also see characters that fans of the original games will recognize. That includes Danny Sapani as Captain Jacob Keyes, in a heated argument with Natascha McElhone’s Dr. Halsey.

Halsey is the creator of the Spartan-II Project that birthed Master Chief and his fellow soldiers, and that makes her an easy target for the enemy. But even her allies are going to have a hard time trusting her. The trailer hints at a burgeoning conspiracy when Admiral Margaret Parangosky (Shabana Azmi) tells Miranda Keyes (Olive Gray) that she wants to become “less reliant” on Halsey’s program, believing that “the truth could bring us all down.”
Apart from this, there are plenty of other nods to games. We still haven’t seen the full spectrum of the Convenant’s forces. But at least now we have confirmation that their floating High Prophets will make an appearance. There’s also a rather disturbing shot of the Flood swarming a group of UNSC soldiers while a lone human character walks by, completely unfazed. However, none of this compares to watching Master Chief leaping out of a dropship from high orbit with a team of Spartans following in his wake.
Halo will premiere on Paramount+ on March 24.
