Michelle Yeoh Dominates in The Witcher: Blood Origin Trailer

This story happens many years before Geralt of Rivia, Jaskier the bard, and anybody tossing coins to monster slayers. 1200 years earlier, in fact. A world of Elves existed, and within it a blade was stolen from a nomadic tribe. Scian (Michelle Yeoh), the last survivor, seeks to regain it. Yeoh in Elven ears and strange markings dominates The Witcher: Blood Origin trailer. But in the end, it will not be her story, as larger events get set in motion.

The Blood Origin trailer just dropped online, after appearing on Netflix over the weekend following The Witcher season 2. The six-part miniseries’ lead character will be Sophie Brown’s Eile, a warrior who wants to become a traveling musician instead. But it’s Yeoh who grabs the most striking scenes so far. “Every story has a beginning. Witness the untold history of the Continent with The Witcher: Blood Origin, a new prequel series set in an elven world 1200 years before the events of The Witcher. Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time – exploring the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal ‘Conjunction of the Spheres,’ when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.”

Blood Origin will debut on Netflix at an unspecified date in 2022. How do you like this first look? Let us know in comments.
