It’s been a point of controversy for most modern iterations of Superman, so why should The CW’s be any different? Loyalty to truth, justice, and the American way takes a hit in a more globally connected world. Superman, after all, wants to save everyone. When he first arrived in comics, most Americans believed that of their country too. Nowadays, maybe not so much. And in the latest Superman and Lois season 2 trailer, Superman must insist on being a global hero. As opposed to one who primarily serves the U.S. military, the way General Lane would prefer.
But Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman has always had to deal with Clark Kent’s domestic issues as well. The world may need saving, indeed. But there are also teenagers closer to home who need to be stopped from having casual sex! Privacy seems tough enough for adolescents living at home; imagine it with an X-ray visioned dad.

Superman and Lois Season 2 premieres Tuesday January 11th on The CW. By the looks of things, Superman will also trade up to a new, brighter Super-suit that’s more in line with comic book coloring. (No red undies on this one, though.)
