This past weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con Special Edition was noticeably lacking in star power and news. However, John Cena did his best to change that by making a surprise appearance at the Comic-Con Masquerade event on Saturday night. He also arrived in costume as Peacemaker, his character from the upcoming HBO Max original series. Cena made his first appearance as Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad last summer, but the new show is putting his character in the spotlight. The video below demonstrates that Peacemaker will retain his lack of self-awareness in the show. Cena even played that up during his arrival in San Diego. John Cena shares.
Thank you #SDCC for embracing @DCPeacemaker! I got lessons in TikToks, showed some footage from the show, and hugged Eagly! On camera! #PEACEMAKER comes to @HBOMax in January! pic.twitter.com/9zxI6VCQ3i

Additionally, another clip from Peacemaker has premiered online. In this footage from the first episode, Peacemaker attempts to convince a janitor named Jamil (Rizwan Manji) to help him escape from custody. Regardless, Jamil isn’t impressed by Peacemaker’s claim to fame or his disparaging words for Aquaman. Fair warning, there is NSFW language ahead.
HBO Max has also launched the show’s official site: PeacemakerIsComing.com. The next trailer for the series will debut this Friday, December 3.
Peacemaker hits HBO Max on January 13, 2022.
