Adult Swim Drops a New Blade Runner: Black Lotus Videos
In less than a week, Blade Runner: Black Lotus will finally launch on Adult Swim and Crunchyroll. And to drum up some last-minute excitement for the premiere, the network has released another trailer for the upcoming series. It’s only a minute long, but it reveals more of the technologically-advanced society that the show’s new replicant protagonist will be forced to navigate. You can check it out for yourself below.
Black Lotus’ English dub stars Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist) as Elle, a replicant built under very mysterious circumstances. After waking up in dystopian Los Angeles with no memory of who she is, she races against time to find her creators and discover the truth behind her origins. Unfortunately, it looks like she’s going to have a hard time finding allies along the way.
The new trailer has plenty of shots of Elle on the run from various assailants. Fortunately, she isn’t totally helpless. Whoever created her also armed her with a sword and a grab-bag kung fu skills, which suggests she was made for a particularly violent purpose. But even more chilling is the trailer’s mysterious narrator, who teases his plans to “give birth to a perfect world.”

Adult Swim has also released a new behind-the-scenes featurette that takes a closer look into Black Lotus’ production. The clip includes new insights from executive producer Joseph Chou and co-directors Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama, all of whom detail how the original Blade Runner film was a big influence on anime in general, especially the cyberpunk subgenre.
Blade Runner: Black Lotus will premiere its first two episodes on November 13 at midnight on Adult Swim and Crunchyroll.
