The CW’s Naomi Series Books Superman & Lois As Its Lead-In

Next year, The CW will add Naomi to its growing list of Arrowverse programming, and because casual viewers might not be familiar with the title character or her connection to the DC Universe, the network is calling on its most popular superhero for an assist. The Hollywood Reporter has officially confirmed that the new season of Superman & Lois will premiere on January 11 at 8pm. It will be followed by the series premiere of Naomi at 9pm.

Having Superman & Lois serve as Naomi’s lead-in series is a pretty smart marketing strategy. After all, Naomi’s DC FanDome teaser firmly established that the show takes place in the mainline Arrowverse by teasing an appearance by Superman in the series’ pilot. Whether Tyler Hoechlin actually shows up in the episode remains to be seen. Regardless, Kaci Walfall’s Naomi McDuffie is clearly a big fan of the Man of Steel. Meanwhile, January 12 will see the return of Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman at 8pm and 9pm, respectively.

Additionally, The CW announced that The Flash is moving to Wednesdays when it returns for its midseason premiere next spring. The show’s season 8 premiere on Tuesday, November 16 will kick off a five-part event called Armageddon. It features guest-appearances by Black Lightning (Cress Williams), Atom (Brandon Routh), Batwoman (Javicia Leslie), and Mia Queen (Katherine McNamara). The event also marks The CW’s first major Arrowverse crossover since Crisis on Infinite Earths in 2019. The series will air its remaining episodes starting on March 9 at 8pm.
