There’s a familiar face coming to Smallville next season on Superman & Lois. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jenna Dewan has joined the cast as Lucy Lane, the younger sister of Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch). This is a role that Dewan first played in Supergirl season 1. However, this will be her first Arrowverse appearance since 2016.
THR’s report also indicates that Dewan will be a “recurring player,” which means she will appear in multiple episodes. Dewan is also recurring on the ABC drama, The Rookie, and a judge on CBS’ Come Dance With Me. Her previous projects include Step Up and Witches of East End.
Unlike their comic book counterparts, Lucy and Lois Lane are not close in the Arrowverse. This series will also be the first time that the two characters have shared the screen in this continuity.

Additionally, Supergirl season 1 established that Lucy is a major in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. She was also the former fiancée of James Olsen before they broke up. Lucy even briefly became the director the DEO when Martian Manhunter’s true identity was revealed. Supergirl also shared her secret identity with Lucy during Dewan’s time on the show.
Superman & Lois season 2 is currently being filmed in Canada. It will return to The CW in midseason, early in 2022.
