Well, it’s already been a decade since Game of Thrones premiered on HBO. The fantasy series created by David Benioff and Daniel Weiss quickly earned millions and millions of fans shortly after its debut on April 17, 2011, en route to becoming the television network’s most-watched series of all time. HBO is now preparing a month-long celebration for the Iron Anniversary of the series sprouted from the literary saga by author George R.R. Martin. The Game of Thrones 10-year anniversary celebration will include a binge-watching marathon, among other things.
Fans can already hit HBO Max to check the Game of Thrones Spotlight Page. It features plenty of materials for both newcomers and hardcore fans of the saga. According to the description, via official press release, fans will get access to more than “150 videos of behind-the-scenes extras, cast interviews, clips and trailers—many of which have never been available on the streaming platform before.”

HBO is also launching a Game of Thrones marathon that will start at 10:00 a.m. ET on April 10. The MaraThrone will feature all Season 1 airing on HBO2. The television network will also create six unconventional marathon routes that fans can explore. The routes will include Daenerys’ journey, Arya’s adventures to Braavos, the best battles, the Army of the Dead’s creation, or binging the series’ most significant spoiler episodes. HBO has yet to reveal the sixth route.
The television network will also surprise three couples who celebrated their love in Westeros-themed ceremonies with unique anniversary gifts from the houses of Targaryen, Stark, and Lannister. Most importantly, several GoT cast members will invite fans to raise money for ten notable global charities, including Women for Women International, World Central Kitchen, UNICEF, among others.
Additionally, Warner Bros. Consumer Products has teamed up with its licensing partners to create various special-edition products for the Game of Thrones 10-year anniversary. They include a one-of-a-kind Imperial egg by Fabergé, inspired by Daenerys Targaryen. The Danish craft beer company Mikkeller has launched a range of beers inspired by the series. And pop-culture product leader Funko has unveiled a new iron-textured limited-edition assortment of fan-favorite Game of Thrones Pop! vinyl collectibles and new figures based on Arya Stark, Khal Drogo, and many more.
