Warning: There are spoilers ahead for WandaVision episode 4!
Yesterday, the latest episode of WandaVision confirmed what many viewers suspected all along: the town of Westview isn’t a TV Land-inspired paradise, but an illusory prison of Wanda’s own making. Despite this latest revelation, the series hasn’t finished referencing old sitcoms just yet. With five episodes remaining in the show’s first season, there are other eras of television to pay homage to. And one of these will find Wanda and Vision sporting looks that should feel very familiar to old-school Marvel fans.
As we’ve seen in trailers for the series, Wanda and Vision will don their comic-accurate costumes in an upcoming Halloween-themed episode. And while speaking with Vanity Fair (via ComicBook.com), Elizabeth Olsen shared what it was like to honor her character’s classic look. Initially, the outfit wasn’t quite there. However, Olsen insisted.

“I was so excited!” said Olsen. “We have a Halloween episode and they were trying to figure out how big of a nod to the character we were going to do and it did start off with the classic Scarlet Witch costume. It was kind of like a gypsy thing that has to wear a headband and I, like, fought for it. I was like ‘No, we have to go full into it…this is like the greatest thing, if Paul’s doing it, I’m doing it.”
Olsen also hinted that the characters will wear these costumes for more than a single scene.
“I’m really in the costume for quite a bit,” added Olsen. “And it was so fun. I loved it, and it was the perfect way to wear that costume because you can’t take that costume seriously.”
The fifth episode of WandaVision premieres next Friday, February 5 on Disney+.
