Earlier today, IGN’s Hector Navarro hosted a virtual sitdown with Robert Kirkman to talk about Amazon Prime’s Invincible, based on the comic he created with artist Cory Walker in 2003. During their conversation, Kirkman revealed a few exciting new morsels of information about the series, including a new clip from the first episode. Plus, he announced when fans will be able to start watching the series later this year. Invincible will hit Prime Video on Friday, March 26.
The clip shows Mark Grayson (Steven Yuen) playing a superpowered game of catch with his dad, Nolan (J.K. Simmons), a.k.a. Omni-Man, the world’s greatest superhero. Clearly, Mark has a few doubts about following in his father’s footsteps. But after a pep talk, he immediately pays a visit to Art Rosenbaum, who designs his trademark costume. Kirkman also revealed that Incivible’s first season will follow a release pattern similar to other Amazon originals like The Boys. The series’ first three hour-long episodes will debut on March 26. After this, the remaining five installments will air on a weekly basis until the “action-packed” finale drops on April 30.
Amazon previously released a teaser trailer for Invincible last fall. But according to Kirkman, fans will get to see a full-length trailer for the series before it finally premieres. He teased that it would hit the internet “in the coming weeks” and “it’s pretty great.” He also confirmed that the new trailer will show a lot more characters than we saw in the teaser.
