It’s been almost a year since SYFY pulled the plug on Krypton after two seasons. But now, anyone who slept on the series will soon be able to catch up on the final 10 episodes on DC Universe. ComicBook.com brings word that Krypton season 2 will make its way to the streaming service on August 11.
The show was set roughly 200 years before Superman was rocketed to Earth as a baby and starred Cameron Cuffe as the future Man of Steel’s grandfather, Seg-El. Over the course of Krypton’s two seasons, Seg-El navigated political intrigue and fought to stop his planet from descending into chaos. Although it was a prequel, the series occasionally featured classic Superman characters like Brainiac, General Zod, Doomsday, and Lobo. Shaun Sipos also appeared as the time-traveling Adam Strange to drop even more references to mainstream DC continuity.

Krypton’s second season notably featured the introduction of Emmet J. Scanlan as Lobo. SYFY was also planning to expand the show’s universe with a spinoff headlined by Scanlan’s take on the Czarnian bounty hunter. Plans for this series seemed to fall through after Krypton’s cancellation. However, showrunner Cam Welsh claimed that Lobo was “far from dead” in a message posted on Twitter last year. Unfortunately, a Krypton revival appears less likely, despite the #SaveKrypton movement that sprang up once the series got the axe.
Both seasons of Krypton are also currently available to own on Blu-ray and DVD.
