Until the recent coronavirus pandemic, Diego Luna’s Rogue One prequel series was set to begin production later this year. While the Cassian Andor series may not be filming soon, Disney+ and Lucasfilm have lined up two new additions to the Star Wars universe.
Via Variety, Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller are in final negotiations to join the Cassian Andor series. However, there are no details available about which characters they will play. The series will follow Luna’s Cassian Andor and his droid companion, K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), as the fight for the Rebellion before the events of Rogue One.
Skarsgard has previously appeared in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, as well as a recurring role as Professor Erik Selvig in the Thor and Avengers films. He also has a large role in the upcoming Dune reboot movie.
