Stephen Amell Promises a Big Action Sequence in the Arrow Finale

Arrow’s swan song is fast approaching, and viewers have to be curious about what Oliver Queen’s final mission will entail. Now, we have official confirmation from Stephen Amell that things are definitely going to get intense. The CW is currently pulling out all the stops for its ongoing Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. But according to Amell, the cast and crew behind the inaugural Arrowverse series still have a few of their own tricks up their sleeves, and they plan on ending the show with a bang next month.

Amell discussed the upcoming finale while speaking with Collider alongside his cousin, Robbie Amell, who played Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm on The Flash. Naturally, he couldn’t reveal much, but he did tease an extended action sequence they filmed for the episode. Judging by Amell’s description, it sounds like it puts all of the series’ other action scenes to shame.

“It was like, okay, it’s our last kick at the can,” said Amell. “Let’s do the action sequence to end all action sequences for Arrow. The coolest thing is that, I want to say, every stunt guy, more or less who has ever worked on the show, even guys that retired or are coordinating on Supergirl or Flash or Legends, everybody came out. Everybody sold out in terms of what is happening. It’s a sequence that, I showed it to Robbie, and he’s like ‘That was incredible!’. And I’m like, ‘That was the first third of it, keep watching.’ It just goes. It’s a little superfluous, a little theatrical, just in terms of the amount of people I murder. It’s what the fans deserved.”

The final episode of Arrow will premiere on January 28 on The CW.
