Batwoman Star Ruby Rose Is Avoiding Stunts After Her Surgery

Although Ruby Rose is having fun with her Batwoman role, there is one thing she’s not doing as many stunts as she used to. In a recent interview with Variety, Rose explained that she has cut back on her stunt work after an injury she had while filming the Batwoman pilot.

“Maybe I don’t have to do everything,” explained Rose. “Maybe there’s some that I can do once or twice and then, you know, I think I’ve earned my stripes already. I’ve done so many stunts in so many projects that I know I have to relinquish the controls sometimes.”

Rose spoke openly about her injury during an appearance of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon earlier this month. At first, she thought it was just a fractured rib. However, it turned out to be much worse.

“(The doctor) basically called me and was like, ‘You could become paraplegic. This is your spine, two of your discs have herniated, and they’ve broken all of the protective layers,” said Rose at the time. “You have this tiny amount that your spine is like not severed.”

Fortunately, Rose noted that her recovery process is going well.

“It was good, I am very lucky,” said Rose. “I have an amazing surgeon. It’s been a couple of months now, I’m moving around, I’m doing my thing.”

Batwoman airs on Sunday nights on the CW.
