In less than four months, Disney will formally enter the streaming market with the launch of their own streaming service. For $7 a month, viewers can watch a number of classic Disney films and TV shows, plus a slew of original programming. Of course, the platform’s upcoming Star Wars and Marvel content is expected to play a major role in building its subscriber base. Now, CNET has the scoop on when some of this material will arrive on Disney+.
When the service launches on November 12, it will premiere one of its first original series, The Mandalorian. Because it’s the first live-action Star Wars show, this is arguably Disney+’s most highly-anticipated offering. Additionally, the platform will debut Marvel’s Hero Project. This docuseries “looks at positive change several young people are making in their own communities by dedicating their lives to selfless acts.”

Day one will also add several Marvel Studios films, including Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Iron Man 3, and Thor: The Dark World. Viewers will also be able to stream the original and prequel Star Wars trilogies, as well as The Force Awakens and Rogue One. The remaining Star Wars films will reportedly be added at various points during the service’s first year. Similarly, at least eight additional Marvel movies will make their way onto the platform during this timeframe as well. Most notably, Avengers: Endgame will arrive on December 11. Marvel will also debut another docuseries, Marvel’s 616, in 2020. Each episode of that series “will dive into the historical and cultural context to the stories of the Marvel Universe.”
The initial year will also premiere Marvel Studios’ first TV show. As we learned at Comic-Con, this will be The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, with more coming the following year. Furthermore, CNET’s report reveals that Disney+ is eyeing to release its untitled Cassian Andor series during its second year. New episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars will also premiere during the first year. However, all previously released episodes of that series, along with Star Wars: Rebels, will be available on day one.
