Til Schweiger (pictures) has been tapped to play comic book cowboy Lucky Luke in French comedy-Western The Daltons.
Philippe Haim’s $25 million film is based on the comics of Belgian and French comic scribes Morris (also known as Maurice De Bevere) and Rene Goscinny (better known for the Asterix cartoon books), who use real-life and fictional Wild West characters like Calamity Jane and Billy the Kid in their stories of do-gooder Lucky Luke.
Written by Michel Hazanavicius, the movie stars French comic duo Eric Judor and Ramzy Bedia as outlaw siblings the Dalton brothers, loosely based on the real-life Dalton Gang.
