Marvel Studios and verified production sources have not confirmed this claim. The account @MyTimeToShineHello shared the scoop publicly but did not provide supporting details or production evidence. The studio has renewed Season 3, so it could reveal the connection there, though his presence in Season 2 leaves room to address it earlier.
Matthew Lillard will debut as Mr. Charles in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which premieres on March 24. Describing the character, Lillard stated, “There’s this Cheshire Cat sort of energy about him,” indicating a personality that is elusive and observant rather than directly confrontational (via Entertainment Weekly).
Further elaborating on the role, Lillard explained, “He is somebody who bends the ear of very powerful people around the world. So he’s not really interested in Gotham politics. He’s interested in world politics.” This description places Mr. Charles within a global network of influence rather than localized conflicts within New York City.
