It’s beginning to look like Iman Vellani’s next Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel will be in Avengers: Doomsday.
Avengers: Doomsday update sheds new light on Ms. Marvel’s MCU return
So far, Vellani has made three appearances in the MCU as Ms. Marvel: the six-episode first season of Ms. Marvel, the 2023 movie The Marvels, and the What If…? spin-off miniseries Marvel Zombies. While Vellani has been rumored to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, her inclusion has not been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios at this time.
However, trusted scooper Alex Perez of the Cosmic Circus recently hinted on X that Vellani’s Ms. Marvel will be part of the fifth Avengers movie. Addressing Ian McKellen’s recent comments about Magneto destroying New Jersey in Doomsday, Perez revealed that the X-Men villain has destroyed the New Jersey of “his universe, not the MCU,” going on to state that “Kamala and WestView are fine.”
The scooper also pointed out that even if Magneto destroyed the MCU’s New Jersey, “Kamala and the Khans are still residing in New Orleans, Louisiana.” The family was shown helping Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel move into the Rambeaus’ house at the end of The Marvels, which is located in Louisiana.
After a fan pushed back on Kamala leaving New Jersey and her friends behind to live in Louisiana, Perez dropped his final Doomsday update, revealing that “Kamala’s got a new fam now.”
The “new fam” part of Perez’s update has many believing that he is teasing the Young Avengers, who Kamala began assembling at the end of The Marvels, beginning with Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop.
Perez’s Young Avengers tease comes roughly two weeks after another insider, James Mack, stated that three members of the team would appear in Doomsday. Unfortunately, Mack did not disclose which Young Avengers exactly would appear, although Kamala Khan and Kate Bishop are likely two of them.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
