According to a new rumor, Marvel Studios is planning to make a Deadpool & Wolverine trilogy with Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine. The third Deadpool movie introduced both Deadpool and Wolverine to the MCU and became the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time at the box office. Naturally, there has been a lot of fan speculation surrounding when the two characters will make their return to the franchise.

As conveyed by the renowned internet scooper, MyTimeToShineHello, fans might get to see two more Deadpool & Wolverine movies come out in the MCU. Moreover, the studio is reportedly eyeing to extend Hugh Jackman’s tenure as Wolverine for another decade.
In their latest update on X(formerly Twitter), MyTimeToShineHello noted, “Hugh Jackman not even close to being done as he plans to play Wolverine for at least 10 more years! Marvel wants a Deadpool & Wolverine trilogy.”
Deadpool & Wolverine arrived in theatres in July 2024 to massive box office success, with the film concluding its theatrical run with over $1.3 billion at the global box office, per Box Office Mojo.
At the time of writing, Marvel Studios has yet to give fans any precise details on when the next big-screen appearances of the two fan-favorite characters will be. However, it’s possible that the characters could play a part in 2026’s much-awaited Avengers: Doomsday as it has already been confirmed that stars Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans will both be returning to the MCU for the multiversal event movie. However, there has not yet been any official word from Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, or Marvel on when Deadpool and Wolverine will return to the MCU.
The highly-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday is currently on track to hit the theatres on May 1, 2026.
