A new report has suggested that Scarlett Johansson might return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.
With Secret Wars and Doomsday set to explore the multiverse on a wider scale, fans have been speculating as to which characters the Marvel Studios will bring back. Johansson’s character Black Widow made her last appearance in the 2019 movie Avengers: Endgame.
Scarlett Johansson’s Marvel return in Avengers 5 or 6 gets positive update
Renowned industry insider Jeff Sneider recently mentioned in a podcast that he has heard from his source that Scarlett Johansson might be coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
On the latest episode of The Hot Mic, which was posted on YouTube, the host John Rocha brought up the topic of Chris Evans returning to the MCU. While discussing this, Rocha took the opportunity to ask whether he had heard of any other former MCU star returning and Sneider had a very interesting answer.
He told Rocha, “I was asking someone today, I was like ‘Do you think we’re gonna see Ms Johansson back?’ And they said, ‘I think it’d be weird if she was the only original Avenger who did not return.'” Sneider further added that he thinks Johansson will “probably be back.”
However, there has been no word from Marvel Studios on Scarlett Johansson returning to the MCU.
When Evans’ return was reported by Deadline, Sneider also shared a scoop that stated the actor might return as Nomad in Avengers: Doomsday. However, which character Evans is coming back as is still being kept under wraps by Marvel. Chris Evans is the second member of the original Avengers cast who has been confirmed to be returning. Previously, Marvel Studios announced that Robert Downey Jr. is coming back as the villain Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.
