Marvel Studios has finally released the official What If…? Season 3 trailer for the upcoming final season of the hit Disney+ animated series. It is currently scheduled to start streaming on December 22, with a new episode debuting daily for eight days.
“What If…? returns in Season 3 for its culminating adventure through the multiverse. Watch as classic characters make unexpected choices that will mutate their worlds into spectacular alternate versions of the MCU. The Watcher will guide viewers as the series traverses new genres, bigger spectacles, and incredible new characters,” reads the show’s official synopsis.

The trailer provides fans with a new look at returning characters from the first two installments, including The Watcher, Captain America/Sam Wilson, The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes, Hulk/Bruce Banner, Howard the Duck, Darcy, Wong, Peggy Carter/Captain Carter, Kahhori, and more. Oscar nominee Jeffrey Wright is also returning to once again voice the character of The Watcher. The video also offers the first glimpse at some of the new characters from the MCU’s Phase 4-5, including The Red Guardian, Agatha Harkness, Shang-Chi, Monica Rambeau, Kate Bishop, and Storm the Goddes of Thunder. This marks the latter’s first-ever appearance in an official MCU project.
What If…? hails from writer A.C. Bradley and director Bryan Andrews, who are both serving as executive producers. It is produced by Danielle Costa, Carrie Wassenaar, and Alex Scharf, with Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Matthew Chauncey, and Bryan Andrews executive producing.
