MCU’s Agatha All Along made its debut on September 18, 2024, and mostly garnered positive reviews upon its release. Having already aired seven episodes so far, the limited series is scheduled to end with a two-episode conclusion. In the wake of the Agatha All Along finale, showrunner Jac Schaeffer has shed some light on what fans can expect from the show’s ultimate chapters, Episodes 8 and 9.
Jac Schaeffer hints at an entertaining Agatha All Along finale
Schaeffer indicated the direction that Episodes 8 and 9 of Agatha All Along will follow before expanding upon the arc of Aubrey Plaza’s Death.
In a recent interview with Inverse, the screenwriter shared her views on the upcoming Agatha All Along finale. Before delving into the dynamics of the ongoing series, she highlighted how Agatha’s narrative mirrors that of WandaVision.
“What the WandaVision writers’ room was trying to accomplish is, we wanted the back half of the season to crack open emotionally and for the important bits to be about Wanda’s journey and to be about the family and the revealing of the personal truths and grappling with that,” said Schaeffer. She then related Wanda’s story to that of Agatha, stating that both characters follow a similar path.
The showrunner stated, “Agatha has a similar trajectory in that as the show moves forward, the material becomes a little more dramatic and grounded. But it’s still our sassy Agatha show, so you can expect some yuk yuks still to come.” She concluded her excerpt regarding the purple witch’s fate in the finale, adding, “There’s more of the road left to go.”
Commenting on Aubrey Plaza’s Death, Jac Schaeffer explained that viewers will get a better understanding of her motivations in the Agatha All Along finale. Nevertheless, she maintained that the creative team behind the series intends to leave much room for interpretation.
Agatha All Along Episodes 8 and 9 will come out simultaneously on Disney Plus at the reported time of 9 PM ET today.
