Ahead of the official premiere of Supergirl Season 5, The CW has released a new extended trailer for the upcoming series. The trailer sees Kara locking horns with a new supervillain called Midnight and with former ally Lena Luthor too. Additionally, we get a closer look at her new suit. The official synopsis of the first episode of Supergirl Season 5 has arrived. It reads as follows: Kara (Melissa Benoist) is surprised to find that CatCo has a new owner who has brought in a star reporter. New couples emerge and explore their budding relationships while J’onn J’onzz (David Harewood) receives an unexpected visitor. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Derek Simon & Nicki Holcomb. Original airdate 10/6/2019.
Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist (Glee) as Kara Danvers/Supergirl. Mehcad Brooks plays James Olsen, with Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy) as Alex Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow ‘Winn’ Schott, and Katie McGrath (Merlin) as Lena Luthor. The show also stars Jess Rath as Brainiac 5, and David Harewood as Hank Henshaw/J’onn J’onnz.

Based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the series boasts executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robert Rovner, and Jessica Queller. Moreover, Berlanti Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television, produces Supergirl.
