According to Deadline, Cara Buono (Stranger Things)and Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files) have been cast as Gamemnae and Rama Khan in Supergirl season 5. Buono will play an ancient alien who has been “safeguarding the Earth from the follies of humanity throughout the ages.” As for Pileggi, his character is an ancient alien who is able to control the four elements.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist (Glee) as Kara Danvers/Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy) as Alex Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow ‘Winn’ Schott, Katie McGrath (Merlin) as Lena Luthor, as well as Jess Rath as Brainiac 5, and David Harewood as Hank Henshaw/J’onn J’onnz.
Based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robert Rovner, and Jessica Queller. Supergirl is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The series will make its return on October 6 on The CW.
