After taking a sabbatical from directing, Zack Snyder will return behind the camera for the long in-development Army of the Dead. Written by Joby Harold, the film takes place during a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas and follows a man who “assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.” Dave Bautista is set to star in the upcoming zombie film.
Some additional information on the movie has been reported by The Observer, which managed to dig up several character breakdowns. First up, Dave Bautista will portray Scott, a “dry witted, thoughtful,” and “estranged from his family” man. Nine other leading characters will join Bautista including Kate (Scott’s daughter), the bulking Vanderohe, and the “cool-as-hell older dude” Frank Peters.

Lilly “the Coyote”, the Latina mechanic Cruz, the Swiss-German hacker Ludwig Dieter, the refugee Adeline, Burt Cummings with his “porny mustache”, and Martin the “Ray-Ban wearing fellow” will take part in this adventure too.
Supporting characters for the film will include Mikey Guzman and Reggie. Mikey is a “sharp-shooter, able to kill multiple zombies with a single shot,” while Reggie is “tough as can be—jacked, stacked and cool.”
Netflix’s Army of Dead doesn’t have a premiere date just yet, but look for it to hit the streaming service by 2020 at the earliest.
