DuckTales Season 3 Announced In New Cast Video

Hold onto your tail feathers, because the highly successful reboot of the classic TV series, DuckTales, is getting a third season.

Although season 2 doesn’t premiere until the end of October, Disney has decided to renew the show for a third season. Rather than a press junket or a simple social media post, the studio instead put the voice cast in a room together for the first time. Danny Pudi (Huey), Bobby Moynihan (Louie), and Ben Schwartz (Dewey) interact in hilarious fashion while a rather annoyed David Tennant (Scrooge McDuck) has to tolerate their shenanigans from London. As a result, we are graced with a great announcement video which can be seen below.

This video is in line with a similar fun cast video that Disney made to announce the series, revealing the updated theme song. Season 1 of the new show received rave reviews from critics and fans alike and currently sits at a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Most people agree that this modern take is fantastic, with EW calling the first season “the American Doctor Who.” Bold statement, especially with the Tenth Doctor (Tennant) himself voicing Scrooge.

A lot of the success can be attributed to the great vibe the cast seems to have, as is evident in the announcement video. The wonderful writing and unique animation style also go a long way towards giving the show its spark. It’s certainly awesome to see the voice actors interacting, and this is something we would love to see again. DuckTales could have been a nostalgia-ridden flop, but thankfully, Disney brought the show back the right way. According to some fans, they made it even better than the original series that premiered in 1987.

Season 2 of DuckTales will premiere October 20 on the Disney Channel and is set to include a Christmas special. DuckTales season 3 is slated to drop in 2019.
