Screen Gems has decided to push back the release of director Scott Stewart’s Priest again, this time to May 13, 2011. The film was originally scheduled for this Aug. 27th before the studio decided to release it in 3D and moved it back to Jan. 14, 2011. The film was then moved back to March 4, 2011 a couple of months ago.
The only other movie schedule for a May 13, 2011 release is the Universal comedy Bridesmaid, starring Kristen Wiig.
Priest stars Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Lily Collins, Steven Moyer, Brad Dourif and Christopher Plummer.
In the comic book adaptation, a warrior priest (Bettany) disobeys Church law by teaming with a young sheriff (Gigandet) and a beautiful priestess (Q). The three band together to track down a band of renegade vampires who have kidnapped the priest’s niece before they turn her into one of them.
