Dune 2: Austin Butler Details Meeting With Music Icon Sting

Dune: Part Two star Austin Butler shared his red carpet premiere encounter with musician Sting.

“I met him last night, he came to the premiere. It was so surreal. My mind was blown. He’s the best,” Austin said during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (per People). “He came up afterward, and he was so, so, lovely and just debonair.”

In the upcoming sequel directed by Denis Villeneuve, Butler plays Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, the role that the former lead singer and bassist of The Police originated in David Lynch’s 1984 Dune adaptation. Fascinated by Sting’s futuristic costume from the Lynch movie, Butler was offered a significant but hilarious gift from the music icon.

“I asked him about [starring in the original Dune movie] and he said he still has the codpiece from the original [Dune], he said he’s going to dry clean it and let me wear it if I want to,” Butler said.
