Jurassic World marked the first time that Michael Giacchino was tasked with expanding upon musical cues originally composed by the legendary John Williams for a film. But since Giacchino is now a legend in his own right, his work on the Jurassic franchise has become just as indispensable as that of his famous predecessor. And with Jurassic World Dominion kicking off its own run as the reigning box office champ, Mondo has announced its own exclusive pressing of Giacchino’s score for the sequel.
Mondo previously released its own versions of Giacchino’s scores for the first Jurassic World and its follow-up, Fallen Kingdom. But technically, the original film wasn’t his first brush with the Jurassic series. Early in his career, Giacchino was personally hired by Steven Spielberg to compose the music for The Lost World: Jurassic Park’s video game adaptation, which hit the original PlayStation console and Sega Saturn in 1997. Giacchino recorded his score for the game with members of the Seattle Symphony, making it the first PlayStation release to feature a live orchestra.
Needless to say, Giacchino’s Dominion score features a much bigger sound. The new soundtrack was recorded with an 87-piece orchestra and 30 additional choir members at London’s Abbey Road Studios. Clocking in at almost two hours, the 2XLP album comprises 32 tracks, many of which boast humorous titles like “A-Biosyn’ We Will Go” and “You’re Making Me Feel Wu-Zy.”

The album, which features custom artwork from Justin Erickson of Phantom City Creative, retails for $40. Fans can choose between Mondo’s webstore exclusive splatter variant or regular 180-gram black vinyl. Additionally, Dominion co-writer/director Colin Trevorrow penned new liner notes for the release.
