The movie’s release is just around the corner, and we’ve seen the finaltrailer. But Paramount isn’t done enticing us with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 goodness yet. And this time, it’s the villains’ time to shine. In two new videos released today, it’s time for Sonic — and moviegoers — to meet Knuckles. The antagonistic (for now) echidna hits hard, and sounds like Idris Elba.
First up is a clip from the movie, in which Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik introduces his new spiny friend to Sonic. Naturally, with a mustache like that, the bad Doc cannot resist some metaphorcial twirling. Along with a Wizard of Oz reference. (Is he calling James Marsden a little dog? Maybe.) Sonic gets knocked down. But he’ll get up again. You’re never gonna bring him down. Take a look:

In the second video, footage from the film combines with some behind the scenes commentary with the cast. See Idris Elba talk aboutnever imagining he’d be part of the Sonic universe. Watch Sonic in the movie drop some visual references to Batman and Spider-Man. See Colleen O’Shaughnessey very briefly in the recording booth as Tails. And without further ado, just watch:
