Warner Bros.’ 2022 slate got off to a great start last week thanks to The Batman’s success at the box office. Unfortunately, DC fans will have to wait a bit longer to see their other favorite superheroes hit the big screen. Variety reports that WB has pushed back several of its upcoming DC films, some of which won’t be hitting theaters until next year. Aquaman 2.
The big news is that The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom aren’t premiering in November and December as previously expected. Instead, the Aquaman sequel will bow on March 17, 2023, while The Flash is moving all the way over to June 23, 2023.
Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson is still appearing in not one, but two big DC movies this year. But both of them are arriving a few months late. Johnson’s first go-round as Black Adam will now hit theaters on October 21. The film’s original July 29 release date will be filled by DC League of Super-Pets, which was initially set for May 20 and features Johnson as the voice of Krypto the Superdog. Johnson also confirmed the switch in a new video message on Instagram, which you can view below.

These delays are disappointing, to say the least. But there is some good news as well. The studio has also confirmed that Shazam! Fury of the Gods is moving from June 2, 2023 to December 16th of this year, the spot that was last held by Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
