Paramount Reschedules New Transformers, TMNT, and Quiet Place Films

Over the next few years, Paramount will roll out new entries in several of its most bankable franchises. But some of these films are hitting theaters later than expected. Earlier today, the studio shared its updated release calendar, revealing new dates for a number of highly-anticipated titles. Paramount reschedules.

According to Collider, the studio has set a July 19, 2024 release date for an animated Transformers movie. It’s unknown if this is the same prequel film that Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4) was hired to direct in 2020. Regardless, it definitely isn’t the only new Transformers flick on the horizon. Paramount is also gearing up for the release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts from director Steven Caple Jr. That film recently moved from its original summer 2022 date to June 2023.

Collider also brings word that executive producer Seth Rogen’s animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie has been rescheduled as well. However, it’s moving up on the release calendar. The film was previously set to bow on August 11, 2023. But the studio has instead decided to debut the movie one week earlier on August 4, 2023. This marks the second time that the heroes in a half-shell have headlined their own animated feature since TMNT arrived in 2007. It will also be the franchise’s first new entry since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows opened in 2016.

Finally, Paramount (via BleedingCool) has also set a new release date for its A Quiet Place spinoff. This project hit a snag last fall when Jeff Nichols dropped out as the film’s writer and director. However, the studio found a capable replacement with Pig helmer Michael Sarnoski earlier this month. Still, it looks like the shakeup is causing a production delay. Rather than release the spinoff on March 31, 2023, the studio is pushing it back to September 22, 2023.
