The Spider-Man: No Way Home marketing machine is officially out in full force. After sharing the film’s opening scene earlier today, Sony and Marvel have released two additional clips from the highly-anticipated sequel that offer a few more glimpses into Peter Parker’s new multiversal nightmare.
Dealing with the loss of his secret identity was bad enough. But when a botched spell from Doctor Strange blows the multiverse wide open, Peter has no choice but to rise to the occasion and stitch the fabric of reality back together. The first new clip (via CBR) reveals the origins of this dilemma. As Strange attempts to cast an incantation that will make the entire world forget about Peter’s double-life, Peter repeatedly asks the Sorcerer Supreme to make some exceptions. Unfortunately for both of them, these interruptions break the good doctor’s concentration, and the results are anything but amazing…

Meanwhile, the second clip (via IGN) shows us just one of many consequences of their actions. It also features Peter’s first major encounter with Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, who demands to know the whereabouts of his machine. Presumably, he’s talking about the fusion reactor that nearly destroyed New York City in Spider-Man 2. But since Tom Holland’s webhead isn’t from that universe, he has no idea what this means. So naturally, a fight ensues. And if you listen closely, you can even hear a few subtle notes from Danny Elfman’s classic Doc Ock theme.
Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17.
