Colin and Casey Jost Are Writing a New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie

Paramount is developing yet another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, and they’re putting some top comedic talent behind it. According to Variety, the studio has enlisted Colin and Casey Jost to write the heroes in a half shell’s next big-screen adventure.

Variety’s report notes that this movie is separate from the CGI-animated Ninja Turtles feature that Paramount is simultaneously producing. That film counts Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg among its producers and is set to bow on August 11, 2023. But unlike that project, the Jost brothers’ movie will be live-action. Plot details are being kept under wraps for now.

The studio previously had some mixed luck in the live-action realm when they released a new Ninja Turtles movie in 2014. Although it earned lukewarm reviews, it made enough money to justify a sequel, Out of the Shadows, which bombed at the box office when it hit theaters in 2016. And its poor performance ultimately dashed any hopes for a third installment. Michael Bay, who produced the last two TMNT movies, will once again fill this role on the Josts’ film. He will be joined by fellow producers Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Scott Mednick and Galen Walker.
