So what’s the point of a prequel to a zombie apocalypse movie, about a character before he encountered zombies? Wouldn’t that just be a regular, run of the mill heist movie? Well, now we know. Army of Thieves takes place as Army of the Dead‘s initial zombie outbreak begins. The world starts to fall into chaos, and rich people considering their own survival are distracted. It’s the perfect time to pull some heists. But nervous little Ludwig Dieter (Matthias Schweighofer, who also directs) may not measure up to the task.
Except he has to, because he’s the best safecracker in the world. And Nathalie Emmanuel’s Gwendoline can make the offer very attractive. Take a look at the trailer below:
In addition to the trailer, Netflix just debuted two new posters. Both emphasize the fact that the safe-cracking this time around will not take place in Las Vegas.
